Field Interviewer - Bilingual

General Summary

The Families and Communities Research Group (FCRG) at Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago is hiring field interviewers for a longitudinal study evaluating the effects of a prevention program delivered to children and families living in inner-city Chicago. Study interviews of children and parents will be conducted in participating families’ homes throughout metro Chicago, but primarily in the West and Northwest Side neighborhoods. Most interviews will take place in the evening (3-8pm) hours and on the weekends. Interviews are conducted on laptop computers, and field interviewers are expected to complete at least 3-4 interviews per week. Hired teams will attend a mandatory 3-session training program.

Education and Experience Required

Bilingual fluency in Spanish/English required; ability to effectively communicate fluently in Spanish required; highly motivated, hard working, and a professional demeanor required; a partner with similar professional qualities to collect data as a two member team required; comfort asking personal questions in participants’ homes required; proficiency with laptop computers required; access to a car and ability to travel throughout Metropolitan Chicago required; spring/summer and evening/weekend availability required.
