Andrew Zinn
Andrew Zinn is a Senior Researcher at Chapin Hall with expertise in child welfare services, adoption, and the juvenile court. Dr. Zinn’s recent publications include peer-reviewed papers on kinship care, foster family care, and runaways, and Chapin Hall publications on a number of topics, including programs for youth aging out of substitute care, residential treatment, and the legal representation of children in protective custody.
Among Dr. Zinn’s current projects are the federal Multi-Site Evaluation of Foster Youth Programs and a multi-year evaluation of a number of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services programs and services. Dr. Zinn has extensive clinical experience with children and families. He worked for several years as a child protective services case manager, served as director of a county independent living program, and has run youth programs for agencies in New York City and Madison, Wisconsin.
Dr. Zinn holds a master’s degree in Social Work and a Ph.D. in Social Welfare from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
