Evaluation of the CORE Foster Youth Transition Program

Ande Nesmith, Principal Investigator
2009

Chapin Hall has been asked to undertake an evaluation, including an implementation assessment of CORE, a 3-year foster care demonstration project underway under the auspices of Family Alternatives, a private foster care agency in Minneapolis. CORE aims to help youth prepare for aging out of foster care by helping them to meet their socioemotional needs. The program also seeks to develop relationship-building skills so that young people can develop long-term supportive relationships with adults. The evaluation will include an outcomes study examining change in relationship-building skills and the quality of ongoing supportive relationships among foster youth in Family alternatives and a comparison agency, Family Focus.
