Foundations and Comprehensive Community Initiatives

The Challenges of Partnership

Prudence Brown, Sunil Garg
1997

In this paper, the authors examine the role foundations choose to play in CCI design, implementation, and governance, and explore the ways that foundations can close the distance that frequently exists between them and the CCIs they support. They suggest approaches that could help foundations and CCIs establish more effective relationships. Finally, the authors suggest that a similar inquiry be undertaken to explore the steps that community partners in CCIs might take to enhance working relations.
