Associate Policy Analyst
Amber Blatt is an Associate Policy Analyst at Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago. Blatt supports teams that work with state government and child welfare agencies to implement large-scale system reform initiatives geared toward improving the lives of children and families. Current work focuses on the implementation of the Family First Prevention Services Act within several jurisdictions. Blatt’s contributions include development of briefs, tools, presentations, conduct policy analysis, and project coordination activities.
Prior to joining Chapin Hall, Blatt interned at Heartland Alliance with the Policy and Advocacy team, where she contributed to legislative change to support Illinois families experiencing poverty. She worked in the advocacy areas of financial empowerment, employment and economic security, housing, and justice. She also has experience in child welfare through her work at Hephzibah Children’s Association.
Blatt holds a master’s in social work from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in accounting, with a minor in philosophy, from Northern Illinois University.
