Erin Devorah Rapoport
Erin Devorah Rapoport is a Project Associate at Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago, where she works on mixed methods and qualitative studies in the areas of early childhood and youth development. Rapoport has served as a project manager on a number of projects and has made research contributions in study design, data collection, and analysis. In addition, Rapoport has contributed to presentations and written reports targeted to various audiences, including academics, practitioners, funders, and other decision makers. She is experienced in qualitative methods, including conducting and analyzing observations and interviews with diverse populations, as well as in descriptive quantitative analyses. She is passionate about helping decision makers improve programs and policies to address social disparities and inequities.
Previously, Rapoport managed a research team at the University of Chicago, investigating the instability of low-wage retail work schedules and effects on workers and their families. She was previously a social worker and Child Advocate for the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights, where she visited and advocated for unaccompanied minors in immigration detention. In that role, she helped establish a new office in Texas, near the Mexican border. Rapoport has also worked as a Research Assistant for the University of Chicago, the Office of the Inspector General for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, and the University of British Columbia.
Rapoport holds a Master of Arts in Social Work from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies from the University of British Columbia.
