Joanne Pearlman

Chief Financial Officer

Joanne (Joni) Pearlman is the Chief Financial Officer at Chapin Hall. She oversees all finance, accounting, research services, and facility services. Pearlman has extensive finance and project management experience in both for-profit and nonprofit settings.

Previously, she was the Chief Operating Officer for Civitas Education Partners, LLC, where she supported all finance and operations for an urban charter school operator serving over 2,000 students. Prior to Civitas Education Partners, she was a senior technical assistance consultant at American Institutes for Research where she worked on several district-level initiatives, including helping districts use college and career readiness standards to improve student success at the elementary and secondary levels. Previously, she was a Broad Resident serving as a program manager for the Department of College and Career Preparation for Chicago Public Schools (CPS). Pearlman’s focus was on decentralizing the district’s eighth to ninth grade transition program that serves more than 10,000 incoming ninth graders. She also designed a student support model to optimize college and career preparation support to approximately 90 high schools. While at CPS, Pearlman also served as program manager in the Autonomous Schools Office and Graduation Pathways. Prior to CPS, she was a vice president at Citi (Citigroup) in the corporate and investment banking division. Pearlman served as a business and relationship manager in the Global Subsidiaries Group, where her responsibilities included managing the group’s growth and marketing strategy, as well as overseeing banking needs for a portfolio of corporations. Prior to that, she worked in finance at Motorola, Inc., and Winston & Strawn LLP.

Pearlman earned a Master’s of Business Administration from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
