Human Resources/Benefits Coordinator

Maria Moreno is a Human Resources/Benefits Coordinator at Chapin Hall. Moreno is responsible for supporting key functions, including new hire orientations and ensuring new staff members enroll in benefits. She collaborates with fellow HR team members as well as interacting with outside vendors and insurance carriers. She works with the daily administration of employee benefits such as medical, dental, vision, disability, parental leave, and assists with payroll.

Moreno has over 30 years of experience working in Human Resources and employee benefits administration. Prior to joining Chapin Hall, Moreno worked as a Benefits Coordinator for an electrical manufacturing company that serves customers in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Moreno worked for the Chicago Transit Authority for over 16 years and served as a Human Resources Benefits Coordinator, administering benefits for over 10,000 employees and 20,000 dependents. She also worked as a Coordinator of Administration with the Chicago Transit Authority. Moreno enjoys being able to assist staff with understanding how to use employer-sponsored benefits to the maximum potential.

Moreno holds an Associate’s Degree in Hospitality from Robert Morris University.
