Chapin Hall

Dr. Molly Rossow is a Senior Researcher – Data Engineer. Her work includes software development, data analysis, and data management. The technologies she uses most frequently are Python and PostrgreSQL. Rossow designs and builds extract, transform, load (ETL) processes for research databases. Rossow leads Chapin Hall’s Coding Best Practices Group, an internal group that aims to make research more reliable and reproducible.

Prior to joining Chapin Hall, Rossow spent many years working in biomedical research, focusing on biomedical optics and microscopy as part of the Laboratory for Fluorescence Dynamics at the University of California, Irvine and later at Northwestern University. She also worked for Kadho, a startup dedicated to applying linguistics research to help children learn foreign languages.

Rossow has a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of California at Irvine, a Master of Science in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rice University. Outside of Chapin Hall, Rossow promotes science communication as a judge for the Science Ambassador Scholarship.
