Jinjin Zhang
Researcher
Jinjin Zhang is a Researcher at Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago. Zhang conducts empirical research using administrative data from a number of jurisdictions to support their efforts to better understand child welfare outcomes, and to structure their systems to align those outcomes with payments. Zhang mainly works on projects in Tennessee and Mississippi. The core focus of her work is to use SAS programming to make methodological progress on these projects, develop analytic files, and then use them for analyses. She is also responsible for updating Tennessee placement data and helping Mississippi implement performance-based contracts with their provider network.
Prior to joining Chapin Hall, Zhang worked with Rady’s Children Hospital, Child & Adolescent Services Research Center, San Diego, as a Senior Research Analyst. In that role, Zhang contributed to the areas of statistical design, methodology, and analysis for multiple projects in children’s mental health and well-being using child welfare data. Her areas of expertise including statistical modeling/programming techniques, methodology, and analysis for working with multistage cluster, weighted, and stratified longitudinal data for complex surveys. Zhang has 10 years of in-depth analytical experience with the National Survey of Child and Adolescent Well-Being data.
Zhang holds a Master of Science degree in health care research from University of Calgary and a Master of Arts degree in cultural anthropology from University of Kanazawa.
