Alex Cohn

Chief Information Security Officer and Director of Research Technology

Alex Cohn is the Chief Information Security Officer and Director of Research Technology at Chapin Hall. He manages the Research Technology team responsible for Information Technology services, maintaining high performance research servers, and ensuring the flow of research data throughout Chapin Hall.

Previously, Cohn served as Director of Information Technology at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine’s Institute for Public Health and Medicine. There he led a team supporting a geographically diverse user base spanning a variety of medical and public health disciplines. He also served as the Privacy and Security Officer for the Chicago Health Information Technology Region Extension Center. In this role he assisted small medical practices with implementing security measures that helped them become meaningful users of electronic health record systems.

Cohn received a Master of Science in Information Technology from Northwestern University and is a Certified Information System Security Professional.
