Courtney Wayman

Associate Policy Analyst

Courtney Wayman is an Associate Policy Analyst at Chapin Hall. Wayman’s work within Chapin Hall centers on capacity building to improve Family First Prevention Services Act implementation and readiness, kinship program development and implementation, and implementation of CQI infrastructures. Wayman is particularly interested in advancing racial equity and building capacity using prevention-focused, community-based solutions to improve safety, permanency, and well-being outcomes for children and families.

Prior to joining Chapin Hall, Wayman acquired over 6 years of micro and macro practice experience in child welfare programs. Wayman previously worked in two roles as an MSW intern, where she gained experience in federal and local policy analysis and advocacy, provided training and technical assistance to peer parents in child welfare, developed logic models and theories of change, and designed LGBTQIA-specific parenting curriculum. Wayman also previously worked at Arizona’s Department of Child Safety, where she served in multiple roles. Most recently, as Program Supervisor, Wayman contributed to the agency’s growth through identifying opportunities and solutions for process improvement, using data-driven decision making, and training staff on all AzDCS investigative processes and procedures.

Wayman has a Master of Social Work from Grand Canyon University. She received a Bachelor of Social Work with a Certificate in LGBTQIA+ Studies from Arizona State University.
