Leah Halstead

HR/Benefits Manager

Leah Halstead is the HR/Benefits Manager at Chapin Hall. With extensive expertise in Human Resources within a nonprofit organization, she brings a collaborative and goal-oriented drive and innovation to the Chapin Hall. She works closely with the Human Resources Director and HR team, designing and overseeing all Chapin Hall health and welfare employee benefits. Halstead functions as a consultative business partner to leadership, management, staff, and external partners.

Halstead’s career spans the nonprofit, behavioral healthcare, and civil service education sectors, reflecting her versatility and commitment to mission-driven work. Prior to joining Chapin Hall, Halstead worked at a nonprofit organization (The Chapel) as an HR Director. During her time there, she crafted a 5-year benefit strategy plan, created and implemented policies and management training, and fostered strong relationships with benefit brokers. Her innovative touch included launching an inclusive Wellness Program for strong employee engagement.

Halstead holds a Master of Arts in Human Services from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University at Buffalo. She is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) by HRCI and holds a Retirement Plan Fundamentals Certification from the ASPPA.
