Steve L’Heureux

Director of Finance

Steve L’Heureux is the Director of Finance at Chapin Hall, where he leads the Research Administration staff and provides strategic oversight of finance, budgeting, sponsored project administration, and risk management. As a key member of the leadership team, L’Heureux collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize internal infrastructure by implementing processes, policies, and systems to support Chapin Hall’s mission.

L’Heureux is a finance professional with a distinguished record of achievement across diverse sectors, including for-profit, nonprofit, public education, and university settings. Previously, he served as the Senior Manager of Finance and Grants at the University of Chicago Education Lab and Crime Lab, managing a $28M budget and implementing financial strategies to support groundbreaking research initiatives. Prior to this, he held roles in corporate finance at Ecolab and leadership positions in the New Orleans public school system, where he oversaw annual budgets and school operations. L’Heureux is a proud alumnus of Education Pioneers and Teach for America, and he currently serves as the Board Chair at the Quinn Center of St. Eulalia.

He earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
