Matthew Brenner

Digital Communications Specialist

Matthew Brenner is the Digital Communications Specialist at Chapin Hall. He proofreads and edits reports, executive summaries, proposals, and press releases to improve clarity and style and ensure citations are complete. In his editing work, Brenner makes life-changing research findings accessible to readers. In addition to bringing an eye for detail to the written word, he leverages strong technology skills to support the organization’s internal and external communications. He recently rebuilt Chapin Hall’s staff website and he manages content on Chapin Hall’s public website. He oversees Chapin Hall’s access to journals and publications and fosters the relationship between Chapin Hall and the University of Chicago library.

Brenner has dedicated his career to Chapin Hall. He previously managed the Chapin Hall Information Center, which provided researchers with journals and reports, and assisted with development and fundraising. He has extensive editing and proofreading experience and has reviewed hundreds of Chapin Hall research reports, issue briefs, and the organization’s Guide to Projects and Publications.

Brenner has a certificate in Editing from the University of Chicago Graham School of Continuing Liberal and Professional Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Kenyon College.
